Going into the Indie Beauty Expo in New York City a few weeks ago, I knew that it would be overwhelming—in a good way. It’s basically a giant beauty convention that highlights smaller, independently owned brands (hence its name). But as anyone who’s ever been to any type of convention knows, there’s a lot going on. And if you’re an up-and-coming brand, despite how many samples you manage to hand out over the 2-day event, it can still be tough to stand out. After making my way around the convention center floor for six hours straight (yes, really), there were a few products that really stood out to me, but just one that I couldn’t wait to get home and use: PMD’s Clean Pro Rose Quartz facial brush.
As a brand, PMD Beauty is most known for their at-home microdermabrasion devices. Those were at their booth too, but it was their latest brush that caught my attention. The Clean Pro Rose Quartz brush is basically a one-upped version of the brand’s Clean Smart Facial Cleansing Device (which we named the best facial cleansing brush for anti-aging in 2019). While the latter version has a ribbed massage feature on the back, the newer version kicks things up a notch: One side is an electric facial brush (that supposedly vibrates 7,000 times per minute to break down dirt and oil within the pores), and the other side is a large, flat rose quartz stone that heats up.
Let me repeat that: It’s a crystal, and it heats up.
